M&M Alpaca Farms of NC - Logo

Store open, but NO tours in June & July!

Please read carefully!

Thank you for reaching out. We will be closed for TOURS in June and July. The temperatures get too high for it to be comfortable for visitors and the alpacas typically hide away in the barns where the fans are. They tend to stay to themselves and don't interact with the visitors. We prefer to give our guests the best possible visit and these summer months just don't create that experience.

The store will be OPEN on Thursday and Friday from 12-3pm and on Saturday from 10am-3pm. We cannot guarantee that you will see the alpacas from the fence line but it's possible. We will be offering several classes each week throughout the summer, including crocheting, finger knitting, weaving, felting, Alpaca 101, and more. We will have options for all ages and skill levels. The classes will be posted on our website and have a link from our Facebook page. We will also try some early morning activities and some evening events, like Picnic with the Pacas, Paint the Pacas, and maybe even alpaca Yoga (if I can find an instructor). We have a bunch of other fun ideas that we need to flesh out a bit more, but we will be posting them throughout the summer. They will also have age group options.

The farm is currently for sale and we have no guarantee that the future owners will keep it as an alpaca farm. If the farm is purchased by someone that will be keeping it an educational alpaca farm (hopefully with me still employed here), we will have a grand reopening and start the tours again. Unfortunately, we don't have any guarantees at this time. I'm sorry for any inconvenience.

If you are interested in purchasing alpacas, please call Laina directly at 336-465-8211. This is not a decision made lightly, so serious buyers only please.

***Please read all of the requirements carefully because we reserve the right to refuse service to anyone that doesn't comply with the following guidelines while on the premises.***

-Masks are REQUIRED for guests that have chosen not to be vaccinated.
-Vaccinated guests are welcome to be mask free.
-The staff will wear masks while guests are onsite, unless otherwise agreed upon by the guests.
-Sanitizer will be available.

During tours, we tell you all about the alpacas, why we raise them, what they eat, shearing, fiber works, and so much more. We believe in respecting our alpacas the right to their space, meaning they choose their interaction level. They come up to the fence and give great photo opportunities, some allow petting, and some will participate in treat feeding BUT WE DO NOT GUARANTEE the exchange. We don't want you going home with spit as a souvenir.

We have lots of products on display, including lots of yarn, socks, hats, gloves, scarves, rugs, sweaters, and so much more! Products are always changing and we're always learning new tricks. We are also happy to work with customers on custom pieces as long as we have the skill and lead time to accomplish them.
